ABOUT US

Founder and owner Linda Monbouquette Cangiano dreamed up the idea for Tableau Art and Objects in 2014 as a way to bridge her lifelong love of art and design with her passion for history, travel, and collecting. She majored in history at the University of Virginia and has spent much of her life traveling and living in Europe, educating herself about art history, and slowly building an art collection. 

HOW WE WORK

We are constantly on the hunt for pieces that are fresh, well executed, beautiful, and authentic.  On top of all of that, we want them to have a good back story — either about their artist or designer, their provenance, or their connection to a period in history. 

Late 19th and 20th century art is our specialty.  With a few exceptions, we offer art that was created by painters and sculptors who were relevant players in the period in which they worked, who exhibited at prestigious solo and group shows, and whose pieces were acquired by major museums and collectors. 

Our inventory changes constantly and sometimes we will have a surprise or two, something that doesn’t quite fit the mold, but we like it.
