Description

This is a colorful and well executed abstracted still life of a table scape by female abstract expressionist Esther Yovits Rosen.  When we photographed it we couldn't believe how vibrant the colors were.  As we stepped back the abstraction became less visible as the flower vases popped.  We love the red flower up on the right hand corner.  It is just lovely.

About the Artist

We love female artists and are always excited to add a work by another talented woman to our collection.  Born in 1916, Ms. Rosen was raised in New York City.  Her work is in two museum collections -- the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers and the Bergen Museum of Art and Science.  She was married to New York Philharmonic harpist Myor Rosen, and her travels with him on tour were a source of inspiration for her art.  In 1997 the Philharmonic honored her with a display of 140 of her sketches in the Bruno Walter Gallery on the Grand Promenade of Avery Fisher Hall at New York City's Lincoln Center.  She passed away in 1999 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
